Community
Motto: “Be Kind”
First settled in 1808, Troy is widely recognized for its kind “can- do” community spirit. We always say… “Troy, Ohio where civic pride is community wide” and that is evident in the educational system, extraordinary community parks and recreational facilities, well kept neighborhoods and growing cultural amenities.
The Troy Public School System is widely recognized as one of the better educational systems in Ohio and for that matter, in the entire country. Expansion magazine has awarded the Troy School system its highest ranking each of the last three rating periods.
Our park and recreational facilities are unsurpassed by any other community our size. We have 25 community parks with a total of 1300 acres and have just completed building an 89 acre nature preserve in the middle of town.
While Troy is a modern city, we are proud of our past and the traditions that have developed over the last two centuries.
